Upper Peirce

The SDWA Upper Peirce research programme is focussed on gaining better insights into the hydrological, hydrodynamic, chemical, biological and biochemical processes of tropical reservoirs through experimental work, modelling, and advanced and innovative monitoring. In this program the Upper Peirce reservoir will be used as a natural research laboratory for detailed water quality monitoring and modelling. This will give a better understanding of how various hydrodynamic and water quality processes influence the overall water quality status of tropical systems.
