The 9th International Conference on Hydroinformatics 2010 & 8th International Symposium on Ecohydraulics The 9th International Conference on Hydroinformatics 2010 is a cross-disciplinary field of study that combines technological, human sociological and more general environmental interests, including an ethical perspective. It covers the application of information technology in the widest sense to problems of the aquatic environment and of the water resources management.
Its aim is to equip professionals, practitioners, engineers, managers and decision makers working in water related arenas, with available information and technology, to make rapid and robust decisions as they address the increasing challenges of ensuring a sustainable water environment and adequate water resources for generations to come.
Hydroinformatics Conference is a significant event in the continuous effort of three international associations - International Association of Hydraulic Engineering and Research (IAHR), International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) and International Water Association (IWA) - to actively promote and accelerate both research and applications of hydroinformatics in the world.
This conference, in Tianjin, China will serve as a perfect venue for practitioners, engineers, researchers, scientists, managers and decision makers from Europe and Americas to meet with their Asian counterparts to exchange about the most advanced developments in the hydroinformatics field and the urgent water related issue.
This conference is co-organised with International Association of Hydraulic Engineering & Research (IAHR) & International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS).
The 8th International Symposium on Ecohydraulics in Korea will be held from 12th -16th September 2010. This conference is immediately after the 9th International Conference on Hydroinformatics 2010 in Tianjin, China. It takes only one hour to fly to Korea from Tianjin. The 7th International Symposium on Ecohydraulics & The 8th International Conference on Hydroinformatics The International Conference, “Science and Information Technologies for Sustainable Management of Aquatic Ecosystems”, a joint meeting of the 7th International Symposium on Ecohydraulics topics and the 8th International Conference on Hydroinformatics topics have been promoted and scientifically coordinated by the International Association for Hydraulic Engineering and Research (IAHR), the International Water Association (IWA), the International Association for Hydrological Sciences (IAHS), and the International Aquatic Modeling Group (IAMG).
The Ecohydraulics conference series started in 1992 in Trondheim, Norway. The 6th one was held in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2007. The conference is truly interdisciplinary and focuses on the development and application of linkages between physical processes and ecological functions in aquatic ecosystems. The Hydroinformatics conference series started in 1994 in Delft, The Netherlands and has been held biannually since then. Hydroinformatics is a multi-disciplinary field of study focusing on application of advanced information and communication technologies to the problems of the aquatic environment, including socio-technical and ethical perspectives.
