2nd Workshop of the SDWA ASC-Pandan Project

Date: Wednesday 20th Feb 2008
Time: 1:00 pm - 6pm
Venue: Conference Room, E1-08 (within office cluster),

Purpose: We had a very technical and scientifically open discussions following a tight schedule of highly focused presentations towards improved urban water management through Aquatic Science Centres in Singapore.

Objective :

  • Identify needs for the research work to be done in the next 6 months
  • Create wish-list of equipments, expertise, space/facilities which will help us refine the budget.
  • Start forming (experimental) thematic groups for logistics:
Example: Water samples analysis involves people & facilities from ESE, CVE, DBS, CHEM & Deltares
  • Identify contact labs for coordinating certain classes of experiments:
Example: Microsampling devices – collaboration between AW & SS labs: contact lab –SS and coordinated by Sheela Reuben.
  • Create requirements and lists of experimental requirements for the ASC-Pandan site.
  • ASC-Pandan budget, proposal, and implementation will have 2 components:         Structural part, Experimentation capabilities –instruments, data loggers etc.         Brief discussion on integration & timing of lab and ASC-Pandan facility experiments.
  • Brainstorming on a chosen topic of multidisciplinary nature – sediments in urban water systems – our test case.
